FDM 3D Printed Bridge

This project was completed during my senior year for the ‘Additive Manufacturing’ course. The aim of the project was to create a ‘bridge’ structure spanning a minimum distance of 450 mm, have parts smaller than 230mm to fit within the printers available to us, and support a 10kg load from its centre. It had to be made using PLA.

This project was completed in a group of three composed of myself, Vincent Cheung, and Mouzhes Yoweni. We aimed to concentrate on the printability of our design, taking special care to ensure that the print orientation was appropriate to hold a mass and not have the layers split during this process.
